Graham Nelsen MD has clinical interests in general obstetrics and gynecology, contraceptive counseling and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He is also experienced in advanced surgical techniques, including da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery. These minimally invasive options allow for precision and efficiency while supporting patient comfort and recovery when surgical treatment is appropriate.
Education and Medical Training
Graham Nelsen MD earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the College of William & Mary, where he developed a strong academic foundation in medical science. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he further refined his dedication to compassionate, patient-focused care.
He completed his OB/GYN residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital, gaining comprehensive experience across the full spectrum of women’s health services. This rigorous training prepared Graham Nelsen MD to manage both routine and complex obstetric and gynecologic concerns while maintaining the highest standards of safety and clinical excellence.

Life Beyond the Practice
Outside of the office, Graham Nelsen MD enjoys staying active and engaged with his family. He is an avid runner and enjoys coaching his son’s soccer team. In his free time, he follows Formula 1 racing and enjoys reading Star Wars books.
A Virginia native, Graham Nelsen MD and his wife are proud to be raising their three children in Central Virginia.
