Convenient In-House Lab Services And Mammography
As part of our goal to provide comprehensive healthcare for the women of Lynchburg, VA and surrounding communities, Women’s Health of Central Virginia offers in-house lab services and mammography. You don’t need to worry about going anywhere else to receive all of the care you need and deserve. We offer these services to our patients to save time and establish a continuity of care such that all records and lab results will be available to both you and your provider.
Mammography is an important part of preventative health care for women as well as the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Having an on-site diagnostic mammography capability allows us to offer mammograms on the same day as your appointment, if necessary.
COVID-19 VACCINE & MAMMOGRAMS
Are you getting the COVID-19 vaccine? That’s great news – and we encourage everyone who is eligible to get their vaccine. However, if you are scheduling a mammogram, please do so before your first dose of the vaccine OR four weeks after your second dose!
To avoid possible extra tests, you can either schedule your screening mammogram:
- Before your first dose of the vaccine
- Or 4 weeks after the second dose
If you need a diagnostic mammogram, don’t wait. You need a diagnostic mammogram if you have a:
- Breast cancer symptom
- Current breast problem
- Recent abnormal mammogram
We’d rather catch breast cancer early than miss it just to avoid having to do an extra test.
