MEET DR. HANNAH THOMPSON

Dr. Hannah Thompson joins Women’s Health of Central Virginia as a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Dr. Thompson’s goal is to empower her patients to become active participants in their medical care and decision making. She wants her patients to know that she truly feels called to medicine and to serve patients, and she values women’s health and understands the importance of patient education and autonomy.

Her areas of special interest include general obstetrics and prenatal education, minimally invasive and Da Vinci robotic gynecologic surgery, contraceptive counseling and preventative medicine. Her favorite part of her job is sharing her personal experiences as a mother and empathizing with her patients who have had a child in the NICU/PICU.

A North Carolina native, Dr. Thompson moved to Lynchburg for undergrad and was captivated by the beautiful scenery and warmth of the community. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband, Chris, their two boys and their mini Goldendoodle, Duke. She also enjoys running, riding her Peloton bike and watching sports—go Phillies!
