Meet Dorothy Murphy

Dorothy Murphy, DNP, FNP-BC, joined the Women’s Health of Central Virginia team in 2024 as a Nurse Practitioner. Her passion is to guide and empower women toward optimal health and well-being at every stage of their lives, with a focus on teaching women to thrive during life transitions, including prenatal, postpartum, peri-menopause and post-menopause. Her goal is to provide comprehensive care that prioritizes physical health, mental clarity, emotional resilience and spiritual growth.

Dorothy grew up in the heart of Appalachia, so it’s fitting that her favorite things about the Lynchburg area are the mountains, the sunsets, and the people. A DIY enthusiast, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult children outside of the office, as well as reading, refurbishing furniture and gardening.
